Sitting on the grass carpet, under the shade of the huge bottle brush tree , admiring the beauty of the Aberdare Ranges is the moment we always looked forward to as young learners as we got to dive in to the world of imagination, storytelling, perform and learn.
We shared and told stories in our native language (kikuyu),Swahili and English , the icing on the cake was our teacher telling a new story of the week, we walked in the road of silence, giggle, laughter ,suspense as we followed through in anticipation.
This moments became magical in our lives, we looked forward to the story telling and performance day under the tree that became our sanctuary of creativity and imagination.
Having walked down this road I’m grateful, that I was given an opportunity, time and chance that made me who I am today, a story teller, a creative and an educator. I’m always on the lookout to nurture a dream.
Today I’m living that dream at Liquid academy of creatives where we nurture and inspire young learners/ thespians.
